Santiago, Chile – June 2026 – Emovis, a global leader in toll-based mobility solutions, announces the successful go-live of its Emovis Qualify – Operational Back Office (OBO) platform for VíasChile, marking a significant milestone in modernizing electronic toll transaction processing in the country. The solution includes, within its OBO environment, Emovis Verify – Manual Image Review (MIR) capabilities, enhancing operational accuracy and strengthening data quality across the broader ecosystem.
The project was designed to replace VíasChile’s legacy back-office environment with a next-generation operational platform capable of supporting increasingly complex free-flow tolling ecosystems. Delivered over a 24-month implementation program, the initiative encompassed defining operational business rules, conducting extensive parallel testing with the legacy platform, and implementing a carefully phased migration strategy to ensure operational continuity throughout the transition.
Emovis worked closely with VíasChile throughout the entire implementation process, supporting every stage of the deployment and ensuring a seamless transition to the new operational environment while maintaining business continuity. This collaborative effort was further strengthened through a coordinated operation between Emovis experts across Europe and Latin America, ensuring a unified and high-performance delivery model.
A key differentiator of the solution is its ability to operate in a multi-concession environment, simultaneously managing the Autopista Central and Nueva Aconcagua concessions through two parallel OBO engines that share the same core infrastructure, including databases and data management systems. The platform also integrates multiple roadside technologies, providing a unified operational framework across different tolling assets.
The implementation followed a phased approach to guarantee a smooth migration. Before the final cutover, Emovis operated the new platform alongside the existing legacy OBO, allowing both organizations to validate transaction processing, optimize operational workflows, and ensure service reliability. In parallel, the project incorporates Emovis Verify, the company’s advanced Manual Image Review (MIR) product, through a multi-provider operational model.
The first go-live was completed for the Autopista Central concession, processing approximately 1.7 million daily transactions, followed by the successful activation of the Nueva Aconcagua concession, which manages around 500,000 daily transactions. Together, the deployment supports operations across 48 free-flow gantries, with 32 located on the Autopista Central network and 16 on the Nueva Aconcagua network.
This milestone further strengthens Emovis’ growing presence in Chile, where the company has established a regional hub in Santiago supporting its full range of operational capabilities, consolidating the country as one of Emovis’ strategic centers for South America.
The collaboration is also reinforced by the fact that VíasChile forms part of the Abertis concessions ecosystem in Chile, creating additional opportunities for innovation and operational excellence within the broader group.
